It’s the family visit episode of Survivor, y’all! Get ready for some tears. Everyone’s fave Donathan is especially vulnerable, as he’s always wanted to be on Survivor, but knew it was a big gamble.
Angela’s daughter comes on and says that since Angela served in the military and “sacrificed her family,” they’re used to the time apart. Angela says that her family members are the real heroes here. Chelsea’s sister Sydney is the one chosen to visit her, and they quickly hug. Just like Donathan, Chelsea is “vulnerable.” Jeff Probst is super into that word today. Laurel’s big brother Frank is her loved one, and tears are shed. Jeff Probst asks Laurel if Frank is her rock, and Laurel is all like, yes, “he’s my rock.” You guys know I love Probst, but there’s something extra script-y about his delivery.
Sebastian’s little sister runs up to him and says how proud she is. Probst says that sister and brothers are like “cats and dogs” but obviously on Survivor, the relationships are better. Wait, what? Does Probst have a bad relationship with a sister or something? Domenick’s wife Kristen comes out next, and Probst says she’s the only loved one who’s “not blood.” Domenick says his wife, his “life” and his “rock,” sacrificed a lot for him to come out. She said that living without her husband has been very difficult. Good thing Chris isn’t here to yell out “Dom sucks!” or anything like that.
But now it’s time for a sandbag challenge. As expected, the winner(s) get to hang with their loved ones. Sebastian takes the lead, with Angela and Chelsea not too far behind. The loved ones are spectating and loving every minute. The last part of the challenge is simply balancing a sandbag on a pedestal. Sebastian “wins love,” which is just an upsetting way to state it. He chooses one person to take with him, and he chooses Dom the family man. Next, he chooses Wendell, whose dad, Wendell Sr., joins. Last up to be chosen is Donathan. All of the girls get shafted. Um, hey. They should maybe start an alliance or something.
Sebastian also gets to choose who goes to Ghost Island. Probst admits that Ghost Island has a big advantage that nobody has to play for. He can choose himself, but that means he won’t get to see his sister. But Wendell offers to go, ditching his dad.
Hanging On Ghost Island
Wendell says that if his dad was in his position, he’d do the same. His advantage is Malcolm’s. Back in the day, Malcolm was given a second attempt during a challenge, which he botched — and he was voted out that next tribal council. Wendell will be given that same shot.
Dom is super blessed having his wife out there with him, but he also thinks he should chat with Donathan and Sebastian. Donathan admires that the guys are the biggest threats, and he really doesn’t think he’d be able to win against them. So he’s got to have bigger moves, especially since he kind of wasted his idol last week.
The girls are pretty ticked at the guys, especially Wendell for wasting that visit. “We can take this opportunity to take control of the game,” Kellyn says. Laurel thinks it’s a good time to vote out either Dom or Wendell, since they’re a dangerous power couple. But since she knows they both have idols, it’s a little scary to do so.
The Immunity Challenge
Wendell returns right before the Immunity Challenge. Probst takes the necklaces from Dom and Chelsea before introducing the challenge. It’s the tension challenge, which Wendell already knows. Each contestant holds three sections of a cylinder, with the ball in between. The ball can move, it just can’t drop
Kellyn is the first one out, and now they’re down to seven. Ten minutes pass, and the next round includes a new section of cylinder. Angela’s out for not picking up her cylinder in time, and Wendell blows his first shot. And his second. The curse remains! It’s not like he could have known, but it kind of stinks that he gave up time with his dad after less than 20 minutes in a challenge.
After Probst talks about how hard the challenge is, and how one twist can ruin everything, Sebastian drops. Laurel is soon after. Dom, Chelsea, and Donathan are the last three in. Chelsea drops out of nowhere, leaving the two guys. Donathan breaks, leaving Dom to win his second immunity challenge in a row.
Wendell admits that he missed the chance to “kick it” with his dad, but at least he feels pretty secure with his alliance. They’re aiming to get rid of Chelsea since she’s pretty good at challenges. The girls are all about trying to get Wendell out and try to persuade Donathan who’s down for it. He’s the biggest threat in the game, and this is their big chance. Wendell says that he feels he can trust Laurel, but he’s not getting a great vibe, so he might be tempted to play his idol. Laurel knows that no matter what, this is a big vote tonight.
Tribal Council
Speaking of, it’s time to get this Tribal Council started. The jury comes in, and Michael looks piiiiiiiiisssed.
Kellyn admits that she put two votes on Laurel last week, which is tough. Donathan says that he and Laurel are at the bottom once again, but things are shaking up with Naviti. And now everyone is super paranoid. I love you, but you shouldn’t have said anything, dude. Now Wendell might play his idol!
Laurel admits there’s an opening and a crack, and now Chelsea is feeling super vulnerable. Donathan admits it’s guys versus girls. Yikes.
“This necklace makes me feel good right now,” Dom admits. Wendell says that since Donathan usually drops bombs at Tribal, they kind of believe he’s more than just talk.
But now it’s time to vote. Wendell chooses not to play his idol, which is… bold, dude. He gets one vote, and Chelsea gets one vote. They continue tying, with two votes left. And… Chelsea is out?
What the hell, you guys? This was your moment!
