“Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition: The “Secrets Revealed” Recap Spoiler: There's not a ton of secrets revealed.

So, Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition technically ended last week, but there’s one more episode of unseen moments. We might get to see Amber Portwood hooking up with a cast member, you guys.

Speaking of Amber, the show starts with a clip of Dr. Ish and Dr. V saying that she had a tantrum before she even entered the house. In the car, Matt and Tonya go to stretch their legs, and they end up seeing the bumper stickers from episode one. The production staff is laughing over the phrases they created. I have to say, driving around in a car that says “I’d rather be popping pills” on it is kind of crappy. Is it weird that I side with Amber here?

Jim Jones is smoking a ton of pot in the car, and according to production, he smokes pot all day, every day. “Jim has no impulse control,” one of the behind-the-scenes dudes says.

The producers and showrunners then talk about how the show was filled with animals. Snakes, attack dogs, a desk full of worms, bugs, etc. Remember in episode five, when the Marriage Boot Camp contestants had to stick their hand in a tube of cockroaches?

Dr. V and Dr. Ish said it was hard in general to get the Joneses on board with like, anything. Even keeping them in the house would be a full-time job. They yelled at the producer a ton, and refused to put mics on or cooperate. Someone behind the scenes said that if Jim Jones wasn’t asleep all the time, or violent, he could actually teach the castmembers something since he did have his wise moment once.

Let’s Talk About Guy For Literally Two Seconds

As for Guy Glanville, production thought he talked to ghosts since he talked to himself and narrated his life a bit. Daughter Brandi always had a glass of rose in her hand — that wasn’t just an edit. Renee Graziano was one of the best people in the house since she’s a huge fan of Marriage Boot Camp and also was fun to watch.

Listen, I’m going to be honest. This episode is a little dull. I don’t care much about Mama Jones being mean to a cameraman and threatening to throw orange juice on someone. All we want is to know how Amber and Andrew hooked up, and they’re totally dragging it out.

Ish and V talk about how they let the Marriage Boot Camp cast have plenty of downtime to relax. Amber requests MMA gloves and says she’s been practicing fighting since she was 22. Brandi gave boxing a try, but was way too drunk to gain skill points. But she’s good at arm wrestling, so that’s something.

The Gas Problem

A Jim Jones update: He used a fidget spinner a lot, and it often screwed up with audio. And an update with everyone: they blamed production for everything. Jim Jones even blamed them for stealing his donuts. But then they air a clip about how Jim Jones was upset because there was no gas in the house, nobody could cook, and the showers were cold, that sounds like a legit concern.

“We did not purposely shut the gas off,” a producer admits. A truck on the street severed a gas line, and multiple homes were affected. But still, you have to admit — that’s kind of a big deal. Surely none of them would want to do a stupid exercise with worms if they can’t eat. Producers said they brought in electric stovetops and generators to solve the issue.

Remember that episode with the ZenBooth? The sound-proof booth? Uh. Renee was so loud that her sisters heard the whole thing. Supposedly they tested each booth, but I kind of doubt that. Renee is loud, but not “ruining a soundproof booth” loud.

The next thing brought up is Brandi getting high. She got stoned before a drill, since she wanted to mentally avoid what was happening. Dr. V admits the drill is probably ruining her high. Brandi admits she did it on purpose since she wanted her dad to defend her. And that was the episode where she flashed her boobs and got too sexy on Jim Jones.

Now, the Amber stuff. Finally. Dr. Ish and Dr. V talk about Matt leaving early. Judge Lynn Toler admitted that he never even unpacked when he got to the house. It was revealed that Matt pretty much wanted to leave for some time since he never felt safe. He was worried that he’d be in an unsafe environment. And leaving on lie detector test day just made sense.

FINALLY, they get to the good stuff. Warning: it’s totally disappointing. The producers said that the crew never really talked to the Boot Campers, but still, Andrew found the time to make a connection with Amber. The cast can’t figure out how, exactly, they met up — but the only thing they can think is an interaction during interview day.

This was the first time a crew member impregnated a cast member, so — that’s good. But that whole preview with the censor bar against the bed? Not a thing. Come on, Marriage Boot Camp. I expected better from you. (Wait —did I?)
