I remember where I was when I first heard “Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White T’s. I was working at a record store, and it was one of the promo CD singles that was randomly hanging in the back by the register. I listened to it. “This is cute,” I thought at the time. “The Plain White T’s aren’t that bad.” But after that moment, I couldn’t escape it. The song was everywhere. Every time it plays, it just gets worse. And now it’s about to hit your televisions, or computers, or whatever screen you now watch TV on, because the world is a terrible place.
The news was exclusively reported by The Hollywood Reporter, who say it’ll be a dramedy, because of course it is.
“I’m so excited to have an opportunity to give a new generation the chance to form their own connection with the song, and fall in love with its story through this new project,” said lead singer Tom Higgenson, who may be unaware that the song — initially released in 2006 — is still on the radio.
The video, shown above, has been viewed over 50 million times. And according to the comments, it made a lot of people feel big things about stuff.
