“Teen Mom OG” Unseen Moments Recap: All The Bentley, Jayde, and Maverick You Ever Wanted Also, one weird clip from Farrah!

It’s the Teen Mom OG Unseen Moments show, and it’s the first time we have some dudes on the show! Tyler, Gary, and Taylor join Maci and Catelynn on stage. As you know, Amber is too pregnant to join and Farrah is no longer on the show. They show a weird clip of her and a friend first, where her friend thinks Sophia is a one-year-old.

Of course, that’s the perfect excuse for Nessa to ask the crew about Farrah, wondering out loud if anyone’s kept in contact with her. The only person who has made an effort is Gary, who tries to get along with everyone. Honestly, that’s the right attitude. But whatever, a mani/pedi clip with Catelynn is up next. She’s chatting with a friend about Amber’s new boyfriend. Catelynn says she hasn’t read any tabloids about him just yet. She’s keeping an open mind.

So, what does Catelynn think of Andrew now? “He’s so tall,” Catelynn says. Good insight. Gary concurs that he’s tall.

The Matt Question

According to Tyler, in Puerto Rico, he tried to test Matt by asking him questions he had asked him before, and it turns out he was a liar! Catelynn says she knew Amber would figure it out by herself. Maci said she had to tread lightly. They didn’t feel comfortable not telling Amber their feelings. “He’s a sketchy cat,” Maci says.

Wonder what Bentley’s least favorite chore is? It’s doing the dishes. “Oh mah goodness,” Bentley says. “They’re so much stuff.” He asks where the “fried chicken thing” goes and the two riff on each other. I should tweet at Maci again and compliment her on both her kitchen, and her adorable children. Then we’ll turn into best friends, right?

Gary says Emilee picks up her toys already, and when Leah comes home from school, she’s also in charge of dishes. She’s in a routine right now that makes life easier for the family. Tyler says that with Nova, it’s all bribery. Tyler is really…hyper, by the way. The next clip is about Butch and his sobriety, and Tyler admits he knew Butch was using again. He’s been using most of his life, so he can figure out the signs.

Ryan Wings It

Nessa says that one of the most memorable episodes included Ryan and Mackenzie’s sad wedding. They show a clip of Ryan saying how he’s just going to wing his vows. Jen and Larry don’t know why he’s going to make it up, but for the record, they’ve been married and this wedding is simply a party. Also, Ryan is clearly high in this scene. He’s got the bug-eye thing going.

Maci isn’t surprised that Ryan winged the vows. Gary admits that he also winged his vows, but he’s good at it. Nessa challenges him to state some vows right now. And he does! Mostly. The audience gives Gary a round of applause.

Taylor only wrote his a few hours before the wedding. And of course, Tyler’s insane romantic lovely vows were brought up. He admitted it only took him 15 to 20 minutes to write up. Probably because he’s a professional writer.

The next clip brings up a legal battle we were all unaware of. April and Butch fought for custody of Carly, which is a huge mess. They even went to court. The judge denied the request, thankfully.

Catelynn explained it a little more. “If they want to place this child for adoption, then we want to be able to raise her,” she noted they said. Tyler says they were being selfish, on the hardest day of their lives.

Nessa’s next clip is about Amber’s pregnancy. Amber FaceTimes Catelynn from Hawaii, and mentions her sickness. Catelynn mentions a trip to Greece, and Amber says she wonders how far along she’ll be. Catelynn’s shocked face is EVERYTHING. She asks if marriage is next, and Amber notes that “we just skipped marriage and went straight to a baby!”

Gary says they’re happy for them, even though he had some reserves at first. Makes sense. But Amber’s not the only pregnant one. Maci’s buddy Keelie, who’s been on the show since the very beginning, is also expecting. Maci says a wipe warmer is unnecessary, along with a bottle warmer. She said with Jayde and Maverick, she did everything at night but Taylor would allow her two solid hours of sleep that morning.

Leah’s Schoolwork

But let’s chat about the big kids! Leah’s first day of third grade is next. Her homework is supposedly for Gary, and she apologizes for knocking him back to third grade. That homework is having him write a letter to Leah’s teacher to let her know about her. Supposedly Leah is a huge fan of school, and Gary says she’s a fan of math and reading most.

Now, an Amber and Andrew clip! Andrew invites her to some premiere of a movie his dad made awhile ago, and Amber says she’s excited to meet his mom. And that’s the clip. The clip makes Tyler talk about when he first met Cate’s mom, April, and ended up kicking their “biter” dog. Yeah, not great.

For Maci, she was nervous meeting Taylor’s family. She wasn’t sure if they knew her from Teen Mom. Taylor prepped his parents about Bentley, so at least that was good.

The next unseen moment is a continuation of Tyler crying in the car, which is…rough. Tyler and Cate’s reactions to the scene are both depressing. Tyler notes how he’s drained, and has patience, and he really hopes Cate knows he loves her.

Soulmates

Cate realized Tyler was her soulmate back in 8th grade. “We’ve gotta get our lives together,” Nessa jokes. Catelynn used to have off-the-wall dreams about him back in the day, and she knew he’d be her husband.

To end the show, Nessa airs a bunch of clips of the kids at their cutest. And yes, that includes A LOT of Jayde and Maverick. Nessa asks about how smelly Nova’s farts are, which — come on. There’s a chance she might watch this.

Next up is Teen Mom 2. Y’all ready for that trainwreck?
